Writer's Block: Tolerance 101?

If you could create/select a new subject that had to be taught in high school, what would it be, and why?

Personal Finance.

Unless your parents happen to be financially savvy, you're screwed.

High school kids should learn what a credit score is, how interest rates work, how to balance a checkbook (or in today's world, ho to monitor your account balances online) the basics of setting up a savings and/or retirement plan, the basics of investing, etc... basically, all of the stuff you would never learn unless you sought it out. I certainly wish they'd made us take it when I was in HS, maybe then I would have had a clue as to what i was doing - i STILL don't understand half of what my money does.
