You can cross me off your list...

Take these cuffs from off my wrists, and drop your fists...

quickly, quickly...

had a brilliant time at Southpaw last night. Surefire alone were worth the hour & a half it took to get there (accident on the BQE). $3 beers are always a good thing, and did anyone know there was a photo booth in the back of that place!!? Well, we managed (in shifts) to cram Me, Nora, Kasey, Nicole, Doug and George into a variety of freakish and occasionally questionable poses. I can't wait until we digitize the strip - I'll totally post the pics - SO funny. Anyhow - ROHS were excellent, they've improved exponentially since the first time I saw them waaaaay back in the day at the Mercury Lounge when the Tomer thing was going on. But I missed a chunk of their set , as I opted to actually have dinner last night (pizza next door). Best, best, best was getting to see Brendan Benson. I really need to own more of his stuff, especially now that I'm sans-mp3 player. Just before I got there I read that his "well fed boys" were also going to consist of Mike & Will of The realistics fame - so that was a nice surprise. I especially loved hearing Will's keyboards in the all of the new songs that they played, a nice progression from Benson's earlier work. Danced & danced to the whole set - maybe went a little crazy when "Good to Me" came on - as it was the first song of his I'd ever heard (thanks Audrey!) Oh! Vince told me about a Cure Festival this summer!!? Anybody else know about this? Supposed to include Interpol & The Rapture maybe? Melissa & I were salivating over the possibility of it being held at Jone's Beach... oh god, that would be the SWEETEST thing ever. Between that & the fact that Lolla might actually have good bands this year - this summer might actually kick a little ass. Post Brendan I was pretty sleepy, but I'd offered Doug a ride home, and well, he's not exactly the easiest person to get out the door - so I resigned myself to waiting & chatted up the Surefire boys (minus Jacob who split to catch the Unicorns) and ogled Nicole's pictures on her cutie camera. The looooong road home was especially wet & incredibly slow - I got hit by quite a few puddle-waves that covered the whole of my windshield. Naaaaaasty. Home by 1:30, hit the pillow and this morning just came WAY too quickly. Nora said it best this morning, "I NEED a Vacation" - well missy... might I suggest a few days in Palm Springs? :-P Can not wait. So ready to get the hell out of here & away from grind and the boys and the bullshit. Beijos to everyone who made last night all it could be ;o)
